Crowne Plaza dispute goes to High Court
Six Continents Hotels is this week awaiting the decision of the High Court in an effort to settle a dispute with the builder of its new Crowne Plaza hotel in London.
The hotel, in Blackfriars in the City, was supposed to open at the beginning of this year, but remains closed.
Six Continents claims this was because it believed that "the developers have not completed the hotel to the standards clearly laid out in the contract".
The hotel group went to the High Court seeking the court's clarification on "certain clauses in the contract".
Meanwhile, most of the Crowne Plaza signs outside the building have been covered in cardboard or wrapped in plastic, and even the furniture in the front lobby on Kingscote Street has been left in bubble wrap.
