Darren Cook has joined the Horse & Farrier carvery in Gatley, Cheshire, as head chef. He joins from the Coach & Four carvery in Hydes, Lancashire.

Russell Green has been appointed head of UK sales and national accounts at Moat House Hotels. He joins from Mosaic UK, where he was vice-president for field marketing at its London office.

Owen Stewart has joined the Asia de Cuba restaurant in London as executive chef. He held the same role at the Hudson Cafeteria in New York.

Wren's Hotels has made two new appointments and a promotion. Sarah Jayne Gardner joins Sir Christopher Wren's House in Windsor, Berkshire, as sales manager. She was a prelaunch director of sales for the Sherlock Holmes hotel in London. Taplow hotel, in Taplow, Berkshire, has appointed Des Hynes as general manager from Wood Norton Hall conference centre in Evesham, Worcestershire, where he was general manager. Matthew Dare becomes head chef at Wyck Hill House in Stow-on-the-wold, Gloucestershire. He was senior sous chef at the hotel.

Nick Venables has been promoted to conference and banqueting manager at the Le Méridien Grosvenor House hotel, London. He was assistant conference and banqueting manager.

Philippe Lamadieu has been appointed director of operations at Le M‚ridien Al Aqah Beach Resort in the United Arab Emirates. He was specialist in charge of food and beverage operations at Six Continents.

Venue Masters in Sheffield has appointed Peter Roger as chairman. He continues in his role as marketing executive at the Queen Mary University of London. Helene Dolder has been appointed deputy chair. She continues as residential services manager at the University of Newcastle. Lorna McGown has joined Venue Masters as marketing executive. She was marketing executive at Sheffield Newspapers.

David O'Leary has joined contract caterer Bartlett Mitchell as an area business manager based in Egham, Surrey. He was sales and service manager for Gate Gourmet at Heathrow airport, London.

Andrew Johnson has been appointed national accounts director at Matthews Food Group in Irlam, Lancashire. He was sales director with Russell Hulme in Derby.

Steve Robbins has launched his own supply service, Nil by Mouth Fine Foods, in Amesbury, Wiltshire. He was senior salesman at West Country Fine Foods in Warminster, Wiltshire.

Rocco Forte Hotels has made three appointments to its team at the Balmoral hotel, Edinburgh: Justine Steele joins as human resources and training director with responsibility for HR activities in Edinburgh, Manchester and Cardiff. She was human resources director for Six Continents in Manchester.

Pascal Gadet has been appointed director of food and beverage at the hotel. He was food and beverage director for Le Méridien in Jordan.

Emma Offord joins the Balmoral as marketing and PR manager. She was previously manager of the media communications department for the Singapore Tourism Board.

The Bristol Hotels Association has elected Paul Morgan as its chairman. He is general manager of Bristol's City Inn.

Corus Hotels has appointed Lynne Mallows head of national accounts at its Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, office. She was sales processes and systems manager at Le Méridien's UKhead office in High Holborn, London.

Pascal Dupuis has joined the Hôtel de la Trémoille in Paris as general manager. He was previously general manager at London's St Martin's Lane hotel.

BDL Management, the Glasgow-based hotel group, has appointed Nikhil Gupta as marketing manager. He was previously with the Oberoi group of hotels in Mumbai and New Delhi, India, in sales and operational roles.
