Are food manufacturers doing enough to make food healthier?


The food and drink manufacturing industry is constantly responding to consumer demand, providing a huge range of products which include low-fat, low-sugar and low-salt varieties, as well as the popular standard versions. All these products can be enjoyed as part of a healthy, balanced diet.

There's clearly more to be done, and food manufacturers should be providing more information to the trade. You buy in bulk, often in unpackaged format, and there's often very little information provided. We should all be providing more information about what's in our products. There's got to be a greater sharing of information and knowledge.
