Bulot hopes to change Relais's image and expand its British membership
Régis Bulot, president of Relais & Châteaux, has warned that the elitist nature of the UK membership will no longer be tolerated.
Bulot, speaking exclusively to Caterer, said he wanted to get rid of the Relais & Châteaux image as a closed "old boys club" in a bid to expand its presence in the UK from 25 to 40 members over the next decade. He also revealed that 34 properties would leave the Relais & Châteaux portfolio next year and that 18 new members would join. In the UK, three hotels would leave the group with just one joining.
