Cheese champion

Established in 1952, John & Pascalis is a family-owned importer and distributor of foods from Greece, Cyprus and the Middle East. Among its 600 lines are feta, halloumi, oil, olives, tahini, Bravo ground coffee, giant butter beans and honey. Specialities include some lesser known Greek cheeses, such as: kefalotyri, a hard yellow cheese made from pasteurised sheep's and goats' milk in rounds of 10kg; graviera mature cheese, a Cretan PDO (Protected Designated Origin) cheese made from pasteurised sheep's milk, which has a mild nutty flavour and is sold in rounds of about 13kg; and anevato soft cheese, a Greek PDO goats' milk cheese with a feta-like tang, suitable for dips, spreading and cooking.
