We love...(11 November 2004 14:48)Most of us don't get enough of this, so the good news is that when the clocks go back on 31 October, we'll all get an extra hour in bed.
What you choose to do with this time is obviously up to you, but we suggest you do it in a comfortable bed. According to a survey by Starwood, 63% of travellers say that a good night's rest is the most important service a hotel can provide. Apparently twice as many travellers said they'd take a great night's sleep over great sex. Whatever you choose to do, here are some of the best hotel beds. - Westin Heavenly - Starwood invested heavily in these beds, and it's paid off. The beds now have a cult following across the globe. Guests love them so much they want to take them home, and sales for the year are expected to cash in at $8m (£4.4m). Article continues below
- Four Seasons - OK, it's expensive but those lucky enough to sleep in one say it's worth the money. Beds use a Sealy Posturelux 4000 mattress and about 500 beds are sold to guests annually. Buy one from $1,500 (£830) from your local Four Seasons. - Perhaps the most famous bed in England is the one featured in Four Weddings and a Funeral. Think of Hugh (or Andie) as you lie in room 101 at the Crown hotel in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. It's available from £140-£170 (B&B). - Marriott - for the sheer size and 90% duckdown feather duvets.
