Who needs the lottery when you can work at KFC, where one general manager was this month awarded a £20,000 sports car? Khalid Uddin, 36 (below right), general manager of KFC's outlet at the Birchanger Green Services on the M11, competed against managers of more than 150 other food and retail outlets across Welcome Break's 24 UK sites in a year-long competition aimed at highlighting and improving standards. He was judged to have managed the best unit during the period, based on consistency of customer service standards and brand procedures, and was presented with an MG TF sports car as a reward.
