Best Western scooped two awards last night at the 11th annual Hotel Marketing Awards, held at the Savoy hotel in London.

The hotel consortium won “Best Marketing Activity on a Small Budget” for its loyalty e-mail campaign and triumphed in the “Best Use of Technology in Marketing” category for its online “brochure builder” drive.

Pamela Carvell, chairman of the Hotel Marketing Association, said: “Some of the categories were quite a challenge to judge this year. It is good to see the industry becoming increasingly professional in its approach to hotel marketing.”

Brewer and hotel operator Adnams won the hotly-contested “Best Hotel Brochure”.

Other winners included Ramada Jarvis, which won “Best Leisure Marketing Activity”, and Hilton, which picked up the trophy for “Best Fully Integrated Marketing Campaign”.
