Sat Bains to reopen Hotel des Clos as restaurant with rooms

Nottingham's Hotel des Clos is set to reopen as a restaurant with rooms under the chef-patronage of Sat Bains this week following a four-month refurbishment.

!

Bains, who won the 40-seat restaurant a Michelin star in 2003 and has been running it under his name since then, has taken a
15-year lease on the former hotel.

The chef said he had originally planned just to lease the restaurant but changed his mind when the opportunity to include the hotel in the deal came up.

Bains's wife, Amanda, will oversee the running of the rooms, while Bains will concentrate on the restaurant, which will
continue to be called Restaurant Sat Bains.

The restaurant will continue to offer Bains's trademark tasting menus - a 12-course dégustation menu (£65) and menu surprise (£95) - plus a four-course set menu. It will open for dinner only between Tuesday and Saturday. The rooms will be available from Monday to Saturday.
