UK coffee shop market statistics

The UK coffee shop market continues to expand, with saturation still some way off, especially outside London, according to forecasts by industry analysts Allegra Strategies. Branded chain outlets have accounted for the bulk of this growth, and this situation is likely to continue.

Although the independent sector still accounts for nearly twice as many outlets as the branded sector, more branded than independent outlets are expected to open in 2005 and 2006.
