Johnson swaps publishing for management role at Brown's

Stuart Johnson, publishing director at Cond‚ Nast Johansens, is returning to hotel management at Brown's hotel in central London. He will take on his new role as

Johnson: "Too good to miss"
general manager in January, ready for the reopening of the luxury hotel in the spring. The historic hotel, which was set up in 1837 and bought by Rocco Forte Hotels last year for £51.5m, was closed this April, prior to being given a £15m makeover. When Johnson joined Cond‚ Nast Johansens in September 2000 to head up its Great Britain and Ireland hotel guides, he had already spent several years in hotel management, notably at the Savoy and Cliveden. Johnson described his move back into hotel managements as "too good an opportunity to miss".
