Lucky Voice karaoke bar to open in June
A hi-tech Japanese-style karaoke bar will open this June in the basement of the original Yo! Sushi restaurant in London's Poland Street.
Lucky Voice Private Karaoke replaces Yo! Below, the ill-fated self-service bar concept which closed last August.
Yo! Sushi chief executive Robin Rowland described the venture as a "Lost in Translation-style karaoke bar packed with technology".
Lucky Voice will lease the site from Yo! Sushi.
It will open from 5pm to 1am with nine air-conditioned rooms holding four to 10 people with guests being able to choose from a library of 4,000 songs.
Prices will vary but at peak times guest will pay £5 a head for an hour of singing.
A spokeswoman for Lucky Voice said the intention was to open a nationwide chain of the singing dens.
Yo! Sushi is currently in the middle of a six unit opening spree with sites in London's Haymarket and Sedley Place already open, and two new restaurants in Dubai and two in Paris launching soon.
