Spanish group Hesperia buys London hotel

Spanish hotel group Hesperia has bought a 212-bedroom hotel close to London's Victoria train station for £35m.

The four-star property previous operated under the Holiday Inn flag and was owned by Alliance Hospitality UK, part of US-based Westmont Hospitality.

It has now been reflagged as the Hesperia London Victoria.

Further facilities at the hotel include nine meeting rooms, a business centre and a restaurant.

It is Hesperia's first hotel in the UK and third European hotel outside Spain, where the company has 39 properties.

The other two Hesperia hotels outside Spain are in Andorra and Brussels, Belgium.
