Thyme restaurant goes into receivership
London's Thyme restaurant has shut less than a year after relocating from Clapham, south London to Covent Garden's retail and arts centre the Hospital.
A recorded message on the restaurant's booking line advises guests that the business has closed for refurbishment and will reopen in the autumn.
An insider confirmed the restaurant had gone into receivership.
A spokeswoman for the Hospital said the restaurant had shut suddenly last Friday (1 July), but stressed that a new concept would open.
"Adam [Byatt] and Adam [Oates] used to rent the first-floor space from the Hospital group, but they will now join the company and we'll launch a new concept together," she said. The spokeswoman said the two chefs would retain direction of the food at the new operation.
Thyme joint chef-proprietors Adam Byatt and Adam Oates were unavailable for comment.
