The first premium Spanish coffee to hit the food service market has been launched by Gala Coffee and Tea to capitalise on the popularity of freshly ground Continental coffee in the UK.

The Templo Cafés range is blended and roasted at Gala's sister company, Union Tostadores, situated in the famous Rioja wine-producing region of north-east Spain.

"The taste of the coffee has also been developed with UK consumers in mind and is mild and mellow," said Jim Cain, food service manager at Gala Coffee and Tea.

Templo is already a well-established brand in Spain, accounting for 18% of out-of-home coffee sales, and a number of Templo Cafés-branded coffee bars are already established in major towns and cities across the country.

Outlets stocking Templo will be supplied with a host of point of sale material including branded cups and saucers, mugs and napkins, T-shirts and clocks.
