Bethray wins Bristol Junior Chef(14 July 2005 16:34)A judging panel led by Michelin-starred chef and hotelier Michael Caines has chosen Adam Bethray as Bristol Junior Chef 2005. Bethray, 16, beat 12 other students to come top in a three-hour cook-off competition. The students had spent a week receiving intensive instruction on kitchen etiquette previously as part of the Bristol Hotels Association (BHA) run event. Michael Caines and Paul Rogers, chairman of the Bristol Hotels Association, awarded the young chef with a Bristol Blue Glass trophy. Bethray also won dinner for himself and his family at Caines restaurant in the Marriott Royal hotel, and a signed apron from the celebrity chef. City of Bristol College, Connexions West of England and the Tourism Taskforce partnered BHA for the competition. Article continues below
