Purchasing managers get welcome boost to salaries
Purchasing managers in the hospitality sector have won a welcome boost to their salaries, after lagging behind their peers for half a decade.
According to the 2005 Annual Remuneration Survey of the Leisure Industry, purchasing managers enjoyed a 12.6% average increase to their wages between 2004 and 2005 inflating average earnings to £70,378.
Over the past five years purchasing managers were the poor cousins in hospitality, enduring average wage growth of 9.3%.
Perhaps, predictably, financial managers came top of the tree with average wages increasing by 15.9% to £72,021, and general managers enjoyed a 10.5% hike to £78,075.
