Time Out magazine has revealed its list of contenders for the 2005 Eating and Drinking awards.
Fifty leading bars and restaurants in London will do battle for one of 10 awards at a yet-to-announced venue in the capital in the last week of September.
Competition will be fierce in the best newcomer category, where nominees include Indian restaurant Amaya, Bluebird Dining Rooms, the Ledbury and Gordon Ramsay-owned Maze.
Other categories in the awards, which are now in their 16th year, include best bar where Floridita, Graze and Shochu Lounge go head-to-head.
Two new categories this year are Best Al Fresco and Best Burger Bar, which Time Out said reflected a trend towards a more relaxed style of dining.
