Spitalfields opens new food units

Spitalfields is welcoming a number of new food outlets to its famous East London site as part of a £500m regeneration.

Patisserie Valerie will open its first site in the City in the largest of the 21 units at Spitlefields, which is 7,000sq ft in size.

It will be joined by family friendly restaurant chain Giraffe, which will be serving up world cuisine in a 3,600sq ft unit.

Another site will be taken by Scarlet, a contemporary Indian restaurant, which marks the company's first foray outside London's Mile End area.

New concept the Modern British Canteen will also be opening, taking a 2,400sq ft site.

More food outlet signings are expected in the next few months.
