Westminster Kingsway team wins Toque d'Or Challenge
A team of six students from Westminster Kingsway College won the 2005 Nestl Toque d'Or Challenge, rewarding six months of hard slog.
Dan Welstead, Tom Eggerton, Chris Terry, Ben Ford, Joe Grollman and Esher Williams created and styled a restaurant called Twenty12 around London's Olympic bid.
The judges praised the way they ran their modern British restaurant for one day at the House and Garden Fair at London's Olympia.
"Their menu was inspired and they excelled in every aspect of running their own restaurant," said chair of judges Paul Gayler.
The winning team will now spend a week working in some of London's finest restaurants before heading off to Johnson and Wales University in North Carolina, for a study tour.
