Claude Bosi to open gastropub

Claude and Claire Bosi, proprietors of the two-Michelin-starred Hibiscus restaurant in Ludlow, Shropshire, have bought a second business in the neighbouring county of Herefordshire.

The couple, who launched Hibiscus in 2000, have acquired the lease of the Bell Inn in Yardpole, eight miles south of Ludlow, which has an 80-seat restaurant area.

The Bosis told Caterer that they wanted to develop the site into a destination gastropub.

The business will be managed by Bosi's brother, Cederic, while former Hibiscus chef Rob Walker will head up the kitchen.

Bosi said prices would range from 6 to 8 for starters, with mains in the 10 to 15 bracket.
