Restaurants curry favour to boost charity

(15 September 2005 00:00)

Charity Scope wants restaurants that sell curry to serve up some good karma with their kormas in October and help raise at least 500,000 for disabled children and their families.

The organisation for the disabled is looking for volunteers to take part in its fundraising Scope Curry Week between 14 and 23 October

The charity, for people with cerebral palsy, plans to cash in on Britain's curry-loving culture by providing pledge envelopes for restaurants to leave on the table at the end of a meal.

Any establishments that serve curry, including Chinese restaurants, pubs and cafs, are welcome to join in.
