Caring buys Strada group

Italian restaurant chain Strada has been bought by retail entrepreneur Richard Caring for more than £60m.

The deal, which was signed last week, sees Caring add 25 Strada eateries to his growing restaurant empire.

Caring bought the sites from the Signature restaurant group, which is owned by Channel 4 chairman Luke Johnson.

It is not the first time the two have done business. In June, Caring bought the Ivy and Le Caprice from Signature for £21m.

In July, Caring added to his stable with the purchase of Scott's restaurant in Mayfair, London, for an undisclosed sum.

No party was available for comment.
