Hangleton Manor Inn, Hove, sold for more than £1m
The historic Hangleton Manor Inn & Restaurant in Hove, East Sussex, has been sold to Dorset-based family brewer Hall & Woodhouse for more than the guide price of £1m.
Agent Christie + Co acted on behalf of Jennifer Saunders, who purchased the Manor with her late husband Frank in 1982 and restored it. Mrs Saunders is now retiring from the licensed trade, having operated the business as an inn and restaurant for 23 years.
Located in Hangleton Valley Drive, just north of the centre of Hove, Hangleton Manor is the oldest domestic secular building in Brighton and Hove. It was built around 1540-50 and is constructed from flint.
Hangleton Manor Inn is set in grounds of more than an acre and comprises a main lounge bar, large public bar, 50-seat restaurant, two en-suite double bedrooms formerly used for letting, and a large self-contained flat with four bedrooms.
