Moto wins 2005 Loo of the Year Award
Compass Group's roadside services group Moto Hospitality has won the overall winner's trophy in the 2005 UK Loo of the Year Awards.
Pub company JD Wetherspoon won the corporate provider trophy for companies putting in 10 entries or more, keeping up its historically strong performance in the competition. While, fast food giant McDonalds carried off the accessible toilets accolade.
Roadside caterer Welcome Break received a mention in recognition of the high standard of their toilets.
With 1,046 entries in this year's competition, awards director Richard Chisnell said washroom standards were definitely improving.
"Standards are definitely rising in many parts of the UK… it's helping to put the sparkle back into Britain, which is good for business and for tourism," he said.
Award sponsors include Armitage Shanks, the British Cleaning Council, Cannon Hygiene and the four UK national tourism bodies.
