KFC to ban smoking in all restaurants

(25 October 2005 09:47)

Chicken chain KFC has announced it will ban smoking in all of its restaurants by January 2006.

KFC has been gradually introducing smoking bans across its estate and will turn completely smoke-free by the start of next year.

The company has nearly 700 restaurants and takeaways in the UK.

Chris Fells, product excellence director at KFC, said: “KFC fully supports proposed legislation to make all public areas smoke free. We believe families should be able to enjoy their meal at KFC without exposing their children to other people’s smoke.”
