An award-winning hotel one quarter of a mile from Romford town centre in Essex has been put on the market by the Enfield office of Christie & Co.

The property, which is located on the A118, was the Hotel of the Year runner-up in the London Food and Drinks Awards 2005 and has also scooped a Chef of the Year award.

The business comprises the original Coach House hotel - a three-storey Victorian building that dates back to 1880 – and a modern three-storey brick property. Both have their own detached annexes.

In total, the Coach House hotel has 37 bedrooms, a main restaurant/function room for up to 126 diners, a 44-seat conservatory with an outside area to seat another 180 people, and a marquee for weddings and functions.

Its first-floor conference room is widely used by local businesses.

“The current owner has considerably developed the trade at the Coach House hotel since purchasing it in October 2003 and there is substantial scope to increase sales, particularly by developing the catering trade,” commented Andrew Evangelou from the Enfield office.

The Coach House hotel is offered for sale at an asking price of £6,395,000 for the freehold.
