Latest NewsScottish Executive releases smoking ban guidelines(10 November 2005 11:38)The Scottish Executive has launched detailed guidance on the country’s forthcoming smoking ban. The ban, which will come into affect on 26 March 2006, will outlaw smoking in enclosed public spaces including clubs, pubs and restaurants. The guidance document aims to provide businesses with detailed information on the law to ensure the transition will be smooth. It includes information on why the law is being introduced, places where the law will apply, how to comply with the law and how to create a smoke-free policy. Andy Kerr, Scottish health minister, said: “This is the most important piece of public health legislation in a generation and it is vital that all businesses, large and small, ensure their premises, staff and customers comply with the legislation.” Article continues below
