Sir Rocco Forte recognised for industry contribution

Sir Rocco Forte, chairman and chief executive of Rocco Forte Hotels, has been awarded the Leaders in Luxury distinction for his contribution to the industry.

The hotel boss received his accolade today at the seventh annual Luxury Travel Expo in Las Vegas.

The Leaders in Luxury awards are presented to individuals who have shown superior leadership in four categories; hotel, cruise, tour and travel professional.

Previous winners of the hotel award include Paul McManus, president and chief operating officer of the Leading Hotels of the World and Isadore Sharpe, chairman and chief operating officer of Four Seasons Hotels.

Sir Rocco is the first European hotelier to win the accord.

  • You can read all about Forte at sixty and the £19m refurbishment of one of London's best loved hotels, Brown's, as well as future expansion plans for the group, in this week's edition of Caterer and Hotelkeeper, which is out today (Thursday 8 December).
