Brakes gets new boss

Food supplier Brakes has appointed Frank McKay as group chief executive.

He was chief executive of builders merchant Travis Perkins, where he is credited with overseeing the almost quadrupling of the company's stock-market value.

McKay takes over from Bruno Deschamps, who is an operating partner at Brakes's parent company Clayton, Dubilier & Rice.

Deschamps will continue as chairman of Brakes. He said: "Frank's extensive experience of customer service, distribution and branch management is a great fit for Brakes."
