Gill, Robert, Nicola and Wesley Berridge are the new owners of the Royal Oak inn at North Curry in Somerset.

Chef Gill has transformed the previously wet-led inn by introducing pub meals at lunchtimes and a more extensive and up-market menu in the evenings.

In the New Year, the proprietors will add themed evenings to the mix, starting with a pint and curry night for £6 on Thursdays for the first month.

The ample property includes a lounge bar that can seat 16 and a galleried dining area with beamed ceilings and seating for 30 diners.

The public bar includes a darts oche, pool table and access to the brand-new child-friendly Garden Room that can seat 18.

The inn also has a double skittle alley and a function suite on the first floor that contains a bar, dance area and seating for 60.
