Hotels in Paris are among the best-performing in Europe, according to the latest figures from consultants TRI.

Chain hotels in the French capital put in a 12.8% increase in revenue per available room (revpar) during November. They were topped only by hotels in Berlin (14.1%) and Milan (18%).

But for the first 11 months of 2005 as a whole, Paris was ahead of the pack, with a 6.6% year-on-year increase.

TRI managing director Jonathan Langston said: "Paris has joined London in showing that, provided a city has a strong offer, it is capable of shrugging off difficult short-term circumstances."

Dublin hotels were the worst performers during November, with revpar down by 28.2%, mainly the result of an 11.3% decline in occupancy.
