Chris and James Tanner, owners of Tanners restaurant in Plymouth and stars of TV's Ready, Steady, Cook and Saturday Kitchen, are to open a new brasserie in the spring.

The brothers have bought a 25-year lease on a site at the Plymouth Gin Distillery and plan to open an 80-90 seat restaurant called the Barbican Kitchen.

The Grade II-listed site is undergoing a £100,000 refurbishment, including doubling the size of the kitchen, and will open at the end of March.
