Ex-Thistle boss Beverly King has joined Spanish Marbella Club owner Bursha Holdings as managing director, Caterer can exclusively reveal.

King joins Bob Lewis, a former director at hotel analysts PKF, and the Marbella Club's owner David Shamoon in a £70m venture which should see the club expand into southern Europe, Dubai and Thailand.

King, who is conducting feasibility studies, said: "The money is available for the right investments but we don't have a set expansion agenda. We may take on projects where we aren't the owners but can create added value in the property."

He added: "Bob has so much experience of buying and selling, management contracts and ownership, while my experience is asset optimisation and creating long-term value from finding different angles. It's a very exciting project."
