London hotels boosted revenue per available room (revpar) by 11.5% in the week ending 26 February, according to figures from hotel benchmarking service The Bench.

Revpar grew to £106.62, up from £95.60 during the equivalent week last year thanks to increases in both occupancy and average room rate.

Occupancy grew by 4 percentage points to 81.7% while average room rate rose by 6% to £130.47, up from £123.08 in the corresponding week of 2005.

The Bench - which is partnered with US firm Smith Travel Research - provides online benchmarking data for in excess of 34,000 hotels in more than 400 markets.
