Awards of Excellence finalists announced(06 March 2006 10:22)The finalists in the Academy of Culinary Art’s Annual Awards of Excellence 2006 have been announced. Of the 90 semi-finalists, 49 will now go onto compete for an award of excellence in their chosen profession – kitchen, pastry or service. Judging for kitchen and pastry will be held at London’s Thames Valley University on 12 April; service will be assessed at the capital’s Le Gavroche restaurant on 8 April and also Gleneagles hotel in Perthshire on 3 April. The highest scoring competitors in each discipline will receive a scholarship to the Savoy Educational Trust as well as £500 each from the British Hospitality Association.
