Healthier school dinners cause take-up slump
The take-up of healthier school meals inspired by Jamie Oliver has slumped by 15% down to under a quarter of primary pupils in Gloucestershire. The drop has alarmed head teachers who fear they will lose the hot meals service if dwindling numbers make them too expensive to provide. The county council was one of the first to bring in the new dinners but since then the number of primary pupils eating a hot meal at lunchtime has gone down from 11,600 to 9,800 of the 40,000 in the age group. – Daily Telegraph, 4 March
Rezidor to build £34m hotel in Edinburgh
Rezidor SAS, the Brussels-based hotel group, has been revealed as the operator for a new luxury 136-bedroom hotel to be built in Edinburgh's Old Town. Construction on the £34m development will start later this year and is expected to be completed in 2008. – The Scotsman, 4 March

Accor set to exit travel agency business
Accor, Europe’s biggest hotel group, says it is mulling the sale of its stake in the travel agency Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT). The possible exit from what analysts said was a non-core business is the result of a strategic review. CWT is jointly owned by Accor and the American group Carlson Companies, whose brands include Radisson and Regent International. – The Times, 4 March
