Organisers at the Scottish Food Scholarship have named the eight finalists who will battle it out for poll position in a showdown cook-off.

The inaugural scholarship is open to Scottish chefs under the age of 25, and the final will take place at Glasgow Metropolitan College on 20 March.

A trip to Melborne to learn from Raymond Capaldi at Fenix restaurant, as well as spots at Michelin-starred restaurants Martin Wishart and Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles, is up for grabs.

The finalists are:
Tristin Farmer from Enverdale House Hotel, Perthshire
Lesley McQuiston from Loch Green House Hotel, Troon
Craig McWilliam from McMillan Hotels, Newton Stewart
Christopher Turnbull from Roman Camp, Callander
Kevin Sutherland from the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh

Anna Collier from St Andrews Bay Golf Resort and Spa, St Andrews
Nigel Liston from Murrayshall House Hotel, Scone
Ryan Brady from the Bothy Restaurant, Perth
