Angela Hartnett to front new Miami restaurant

Connaught chef-patron Angela Hartnett could be heading to Miami to lead Gordon Ramsay Holding's (GRH) latest international project.

GRH this week revealed it was in negotiations to launch a third US restaurant - at the upmarket, Blackstone-owned Boca Raton Resort & Club in Palm Beach County.

Should the project go ahead, Michelin-starred Hartnett will travel to Miami to launch the project, which would be branded under her name. However, she denied that she would be leaving her current job.

"I am not going to leave the Connaught," she told Caterer. "I would have a head chef in place and then travel over there on a regular basis to oversee operations. It's far too early to say who the chef would be or any details of the menu - we're still in the initial stages."

GRH will open its first US restaurant in New York at the Marriott Righa Royal hotel in April under head chef Neil Ferguson.

A second LA project is scheduled for some time next year.
