Former Compass boss Peter Aldrich joins ISS

Peter Aldrich, former chief executive of business and industry at Compass Group UK and Ireland, has joined Danish facilities management company ISS.

Aldrich, 50, who won last year's foodservice operator Catey, retired from Compass last August following a reshuffle of the caterer's UK operations.

His responsibilities included Restaurant Associates, Eurest, and Baxter and Platts.

He will start his job as senior vice-president on Monday 3 April and will initially be based in Copenhagen.

Aldrich will be responsible for setting up a centre for catering excellence in the Danish capital, in addition to boosting the company's catering operations in the 43 countries where ISS is present.

"My remit is global and I will look to strengthen our catering services in countries where it exists already and to identify countries where there is no catering service but where we can deliver it," he said.

An ISS spokesman said: "Peter will work closely with country managers and catering teams to develop closer international co-operation in sales, marketing, purchasing and brand development."

Aldrich will report to commercial director Lars Folkmann but not sit on the board of the company.
