Allium to close as Dolphin Square hotel goes

Allium, Sodexho's fine-dining restaurant in London's Dolphin Square hotel, will shut at the end of next month, after the hotel closes its doors for good on 10 April.

The restaurant, which is overseen by Anton Edelmann, will be turned into a lobby area and the Westminster hotel's luxury rooms will be converted into apartments as developers return the building to residential use.

A new 60-seater restaurant will be built inside the building. It is expected to take eight months to construct.

Edelmann will continue his role as principal chef at Directors Table, Sodexho's fine-dining arm.

Up to 80 staff will be made redundant from the hotel.
