Richard Corrigan set for Grosvenor House deal

Thursday 13 April 2006 05:26

Michelin-starred chef Richard Corrigan is believed to be close to clinching a deal to run a fine-dining restaurant and new brasserie at London's Grosvenor House hotel.

The Marriott hotel on Park Lane has been talking for more than a year to a string of top-name chefs - including Heston Blumenthal and Gordon Ramsay - to replace its former Chez Nico restaurant.

Inside sources at Marriott have tipped Corrigan as the likely candidate and say the hotel is just waiting for its chosen operator to sign the lease before it makes any announcement. This process is expected to complete shortly.

Corrigan, who holds a Michelin star for his Lindsay House restaurant in Soho, was unavailable for comment.

Nigel Goodhew, co-founder of Searcy's, and Corrigan's partner in Lindsay House, said: "There are rumours. We don't have any comment to make on that."
