A construction worker has died after scaffolding collapsed at the site of a new Jurys Inn hotel in Milton Keynes.

John Robinson, 49, died on Friday (14 April) from injuries sustained when the 15 floors of scaffolding from the new 279-bedroom hotel crumpled.

Robinson’s family said in a statement: “John was a family man and leaves a widow, three children and six grandchildren.”

Two other men were rescued from the rubble and are in a stable condition in a local hospital.
