Hotelier's group the Master Innholders to recruit new clerk

Hotelier's group the Master Innholders is on the look out for a new clerk after the present incumbent, Francis Young, said he plans to retire from the position this September.

The organisation counts among its members most of the top hoteliers in the country, including 13 out of 23 previous Caterer and Hotelkeeper's Hoteliers of the Year.

The general managers' conference held in London each year and the administration of the St Julian's scholarships for budding hoteliers to Lausanne, Cornell and Cranfield, are just some of the tasks that fall under the clerk's umbrella.

Chairman Richard Ball, managing director of Calcot Manor in Gloucestershire, said: "We are looking for a high profile person with a strong knowledge of the hotel industry who can help take the organisation even further. It may suit someone who has recently retired and wants to put something back into the industry."

Current members of the Master Innholders include Amanda Scott, general manager of London's Waldorf Hilton, Jonathan Slater, managing director of the Chester Grosvenor, and Stuart Johnson, general manager of Browns in London.

  • Anyone interested should contact Richard Ball on 01666 891213.
