Proof-of-age card website launched

(25 April 2006 10:22)

A new website has been launched that will help publicans spot whether younger customers are flashing genuine or fake proof-of-age cards.

The website – www.pass-scheme.org.uk  – has been put together by the Proof of Age Standards Scheme (Pass) which was set up in 2003 as a national guarantee scheme for the cards.

The internet site provides information on what to look for in a Pass-accredited proof-of-age card, along with downloadable point-of-sale and training material for staff

There are more than 1.5 million Pass-accredited cards in circulation from almost 20 card issuers. The most recent additions to the line-up include local authority cards issued by the councils of Suffolk, Blackpool and Denbighshire.
