The Old Course Hotel in St Andrews has been revealed as the hotel at the centre of an unfair dismissal and sexual discrimination dispute involving allegations that Hollywood actor Kevin Costner performed a sex act in front of an employee.

The 34-year old masseuse, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claimed unfair dismissal after she lost her job when she complained to management about the Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves film star.

She alleged that Costner dropped his towel and performed a sex act in front of her while he was honeymooning at the hotel during the Dunhill Links pro-celebrity golf tournament in October 2004.

She said: “It was disgusting, and even though he was a Hollywood film star, I can’t believe he thought he could get away with it. He abused me and I considered that a criminal act.”

The masseuse, who said she was “mortified” by the incident, claimed she was treated differently by the hotel’s management after she complained and was eventually sacked.

She is believed to have settled with the hotel for a rumoured £30,000, before the tribunal yesterday.

Costner has strongly denied the allegations and has not faced any legal proceedings related to the incident.

The hotel was unavailable to comment at this time.
