Mystery bidder makes approach for Regent Inns

Pub company Regent Inns has said it has received an approach, although no formal bid for the business has been made so far.

The Walkabout and Joungleurs chains owner made the announcement today after recent speculation about a bid pushed its share price higher.

Regent said: "The board emphasise that this approach is at a very early stage and there can be no guarantee that an offer will be made."
