Blue Apple takes on software developer in Slough
Independent caterer Blue Apple has won a two-year contract with software developer Anite systems in Slough, Berkshire. The contract, which will turn over £250,000 per year, will see seven Blue Apple staff caterer for 350 Anite employees. The deal was previously run by OCS division Just Deli.
… and another in Cambridgeshire
Blue Apple has also won a three-year contract with software developer TTP Com in Melbourn, Cambridgeshire. The deal will turn over £450,000 per year and see ten Blue Apple staff cater for 600 TTP employees. The deal was previously run by Avenance.
Avenance wins research lab contracts in Oxfordshire
Elior Group business and industry division Avenance has won one contract and extended two at the Council of the Central Laboratory of Research Councils (CCLRC) in Oxfordshire. The three-year deals have a combined annual turnover of more than £2 million. The first extension will see 20 Avenance employees cater for 2,000 staff at the CCLRC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory site. The second deal will see ten staff provide full hotel services at the new-build guest house next to the laboratory. The third contract is a three-year extension to a current deal and will see 20 Avenance staff provide catering, hospitality and hotel services at the CCLRC residential conference centre at the Coseners House in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

Avenance has also won a three-year contract for Scottish Natural Heritage's new headquarters in Inverness. The contract will turn over £200,000 per year and employ three catering staff
Medirest to look after two Merseyside hospitals
Compass Group healthcare division Medirest has won a seven-year contract to provide catering and facilities management services to two hospitals in Merseyside. The deal with the St Helens and Knowsley NHS trust will turn over £9.3m per year and is part of a £338m private finance initiative for the redevelopment of St Helens and Whiston hospitals. Medirest's services will include catering, cleaning, security and car-parking and employ 150 catering staff. The deals were previously run in house.
Milburns retains St Paul's Cathedral contract
St Paul's Cathedral in London has extended its contract with Compass Group leisure division Milburns for a further three years. The contract, which will turn over £1.2m per year, will see 21 Milburns staff catering across two sites for the cathedral's 750,000 annual visitors. Milburns will also supply event catering for up to 10,000 people per year.
