Ultimate Leisure reports a drop in sales

Northern bar and nightclub operator, Ultimate Leisure has announced pre-close figures significantly down on last year, consistent with the announcement it made in January.

Like-for-like sales were down 19% for the year to 30 June and total sales were reduced by 11% for the same period.

A spokesman for Ultimate Leisure said that the general trading environment continued to be tough and challenging and they remained cautious about the outlook for 2006/7.

The company is addressing a historic lack of investment in the business by continuing to look for sites to expand its Prohibition brand across the country. Prohibition was bought from Living Ventures for £2.75m last year.
