QHotels adds Kent hotel to portfolio

Four-star hotel group QHotels, previously Quintessential, has bought its ninth UK property.

The group has purchased the 177-bedroom Ashford International Hotel in Kent for an undisclosed sum. It plans to invest £5m refurbishing the property throughout.

It is its third acquisition this year, after the Westerwood Hotel in Cumbernauld in February and the £19m purchase of the Cheltenham Queens Moat House in January.

Michael Purtill, managing director of QHotels, said: "Ashford International is a fantastic property, which perfectly suits our vision when looking for hotels to invest in."

Properties in the QHotel portfolio include: The Midland in Manchester; the Queens in Leeds; Chesford Grange in Warwickshire; the Park Royal in Warrington; Norton Manor in Winchester, Forest Pines in North Lincolnshire; and the Cheltenham and Gloucester Chase hotel in Gloucestershire.
